Despite pouring rain (and a few thunderstorms) this past Saturday, people still stood in line to be some of the first folks through the doors at the newest location of Slutty Vegan in Duluth. This is the fourth location of the wildly popular meatless burger joint in the Atlanta area, which replaces Batteries Plus Bulbs on Pleasant Hill Road in the Gwinnett County city.

Earlier this fall, owner Aisha “Pinky” Cole announced she was opening a Slutty Vegan next year in Athens, home to the University of Georgia. That location resides at 700 Baxter Street, on the edge of the UGA campus. Cole is also working on a location in Birmingham, Alabama.

Cole founded Slutty Vegan as a delivery service in 2018, with people contacting her via Instagram to place orders for provocatively named meat-free burgers like the One Night Stand and Ménage à Trois. She quickly amassed a following, leading to a food truck and late night pop-ups around Atlanta University Center. Cole now has four Slutty Vegan locations throughout metro Atlanta, including in the Westview neighborhood, on Edgewood Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward, in Jonesboro south of Atlanta, and in Duluth. The Clark Atlanta University alum also opened cocktail bar and vegan restaurant Bar Vegan on the second floor of the Central Food Hall at Ponce City Market in February 2021. [Official]

Vietvana Vietnamese food stall opens at Ponce City Market

Vietnamese restaurant and pho shop Vietvana opens December 20 at the expanded food hall at Ponce City Market, joining Meherwan Irani’s Nani’s Piri Piri Chicken, which opened there in November. This is the third Atlanta location of Vietvana, owned by Dinh Tran and Khanh Dang. Tran and Dang first opened Vietvana in Avondale Estates two years ago, followed by a location in Midtown in 2020. Dishes on the menu reflect those found in the couple’s childhood cities of Hue and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). The Ponce City Market food stall includes ten bar seats and a menu centered on pho and bánh mì. Open daily at 11 a.m. [Official]
